The first blog design giveaway is by "Blogs by Heather", and this giveaway is to win a $100 value of blog makeover. Although the date seems like it ended tomorrow, but we're on different timezones, so my May 30 would mean your May 29. Ends on 29 May 2011.

27 May Giveaways Roundup

Exams, exams, exams. Two down for me, two more to go. It's so tiring! But that's not it. I should be studying. I should be reading all of my textbooks and writing some notes down from my lecture slides. I should be memorizing all the key terms and taking naps(consolidating my memories). But, no. I'm here, once again so addicted to the internet and surfing for four hours straight for now. Might be more, I don't know, it depends on when Mum comes home! Joking. Enjoy yourselves.

Okay so, Smashing Apps is giving away an Ultimate Designer Toolkit! These kind of giveaways for designers always catches my attention, so I joined it anyway. I'm interested in the brushes and textures, the rest are just extras for me I suppose! Ends on 27 May 2011.

Crazy Leaf Design Blog is giving away three one month subscriptions at Pixmac. "3 readers will each get a 199$ one month subscription from Pixmac." Obviously it's a really great offer, because Pixmac is one of those stock photography sites that have tons of high quality photos. Ends on 27 May 2011.

Specky Boy is giving away 3 themes from TheemTrust to each of the three winners. All I had to do was to just comment on my favourite team from the three themes given. Well, I did, and "Filtered" is my favourite. I went to take a look at ThemeTrust, and fell in love with another theme named "Work". Ah, hope I win this giveaway! Ends on 3 June 2011.

Seriously what can be a better giveaway than pure cash in paypal? MomsPlan is giving away $25 in paypal which is sponsored by Max, of Maximizing Money. You just have to follow his feed to enter the giveaway, before doing any additional entries. Ends on 30 May 2011.

Whoa. 3 Boys and a Dog and the beloved sponsors are giving away $200 in cash or prizes (your choice) to one lucky reader. There are many steps to do, but it's optional obviously, you don't have to complete every single link stated there. For me, I just liked all of their FB as an entry. I admire the fact that this giveaway uses a form to submit the entries instead of leaving comments after comments which is what I frequently see on giveaway sites. Thumbs up! Ends on 31 May 2011.

Julie Ann Art is giving away a print of their choice from The Dreamy Giraffe's Etsy shop. Being a great Etsy fan myself, these kind of etsy giveaways always catch my attention. If Heartsy didn't feature prints and artworks that I like, I'd go hunting for giveaways that promotes very talented designers as well. One day, I want to be an Etsy seller as well! Ends on 30 May 2011.

Problems with my Mobile Broadband device

Have you ever tried using a mobile broadband device? It's extremely convenient, and you can bring it anywhere with you outside of your home for internet. I've bought two so far, different brands of course, and they are so different. Both of them gives the same internet access convenience, but what I meant by different is the quality of the service. Honestly, I'm not giving any names here, because I don't want to write any reviews in this blog post. Reviews regarding this issue would be so negative(if written by me) that it would be called criticism, sarcasm and rants instead. So lets call it mobile broadband 1, and mobile broadband 2.

Mobile Broadband 1(2mbps) was slightly less than perfect, but I was satisfied with it. I was able to access internet on my laptop on the train, on the bus, in shopping malls, which is basically, everywhere. It was only a 3 second process. Open the cap of the device, plug in, and click the "connect" button, and it gets me instantly connected to the internet. When I say instantly, I mean it, there was not delay, no whatever #@$#% that will destroy my patience. The internet connection speed was satisfactory.

For Mobile Broadband 2(4mbps), which is the one I'm using now, it is horrible. I totally regret upgrading from 2mbps to 4mbps. "They" offered a discount for people using 2mbps connections to 4mbps, I thought it was an awesome deal so I went for it. It was a painful lesson learnt, and I swear I'll never do it again. Always be satisfied with what you have. So what happened was... Mobile Broadband 2 did not start for me in the start-up process, so I had to call the technical service. I was asked to uninstall the software, reinstall it and do some stuff to my laptop and it didn't help at all. Then somehow, just somehow, these dragged for a few days. During these few days, I had no internet access, so I decided to go down to their technical service center (They had only one in this country for god's sake.) to get this horrible "Mobile Broadband 2" fixed, once and for all. Guess what happened? Magically it appeared to be working fine there, so I had nothing to say. Then guess what? I couldn't use it from my home again. It was just... not working. I called the technical service people again, none of them was willing to come down, which was fine, but whatever assistance they provided over the phone was useless. I was asked to do the uninstall and reinstall process for a total of... let me count... EIGHT times or more, by different technical service people. My patience ends there, I cursed and swore at the people who were assisting me on the phone. I think that really helped, because the next day my internet access worked after they did some network stuffs in my neighborhood.

However, getting it to work does not mean that this issue is completely solved. I called several times later to explain the problem I was facing: My internet connection seems to disconnect by itself, and reconnect back after a few seconds. Sometimes it doesn't even reconnect back. At night I am unable to access the internet because although it appears that there is some signals, there is actually none, and hard solid evidence was the "unable to access" sign on Chrome. In conclusion, the only help that technical service people gave was to ask me to uninstall and reinstall again. That is the only knowledge they knew and we pay them for it. I'm paying for something that is faulty through my monthly bills. If you're asking me to change the device, it means I'll have to buy a new one and it costs a lot for me, and I don't have the patience to go through another round of -look above again- tedious process with them.

What about you? Are you experiencing such issues as well? I sought some advices from my friends, and they say told me to go near my window, go to and open area etc., as it might be the setting that was giving me trouble and not the device. I tried, believe me, I had no reason not to. None of them worked. So now I'm suffering with such limited access from 7pm to 11pm, occasional disconnect and reconnect issue sometimes more than three times per day, and slow internet access when "it" is in a bad mood. Well, but I'm not the only one. My friends are experiencing the same problems as well. Just that they don't mind it at all, because they didn't go through such horrendous service treatment I experienced. I've been trying to find out more on mobile broadband, read more about network issues and planning on how I can write a long and hurting negative review for this company's brand.

21 May Giveaways Roundup

I've been just a little busy with Facebook apps this week. I am determined to build a prosperous city of my own on Cityville (a game app on Facebook) and bugging my friends with invites and stuff for the game. To build a successful city of your own, you have to get materials, and officers, all from your friends. You also need to have neighbors, and it's crucial if you don't want to get stuck with a "one screen city". I know I should feel terrible about neglecting my studies, but I just can't help it! Whenever I'm near my laptop I just feel like opening it and browsing the internet. It's like... an addiction, just like how I am addicted to posting giveaways that I joined for you guys! So enjoy!

Emily Parkes is having a 100th post Spring Goodies giveaway! I am a fan of etsy giveaways, and because I saw that there were so little entries, I decided to enter this giveaway! Take your time to browse through her Etsy shop as well, it has two pages of goodies at a reasonable price. Ends on 21 May 2011.

Momma Told Me is having a Kobo eReader review and giveaway that is also available to international readers! I have been wanting an eReader for so, so, so long, and if you also want to win one, then this giveaway is a must join! "One extra lucky Momma Told Me follower will win a Kobo eReader, just like the one pictured above, loaded with 100 books!" - Quoted from Momma Told Me. You need to be a follower of Momma Told Me, and include in your comment what feature you like most about Kobo eReader. I liked the fact that it can hold up to a thousand books for you to enjoy! I know it's really discouraging to see so many entries for this giveaway, and the chances of winning are so low, that it's almost none, but nevertheless, it'll never hurt to try your luck! Ends on 22 May 2011.

Orphic Pixel is giving away 3 TwiBooklet ebook to help you understand the best method of promotion on Twitter! You need to complete four steps: Follow them on twitter, Like them on FB, retweet this post, and leave a comment with a valid email. Such simple instructions for a useful ebook! Ends on 22 May 2011.

Soap Deli News is giving away $25 gift certificate to Julie Ann Art! What you will find is greeting cards that looks totally simple but so professional. If you can't wait for this giveaway, just proceed to Julie Ann Art (Etsy Shop) and get a 20 per cent discount currently while this giveaway is going on, or just go straight to Heartsy for an awesome deal you'll never forget! Just search for Julie Ann Art in the list on the front page like what I did. Ends on 22 May 2011.

Specky Boy Design Magazine is giving away three elite memberships to Medialoot worth $288 each! All you have to do, is to just tweet the message that they provided in the post. Best for illustrators and designers. Ends on 23 May 2011.

7 on a Shoestring

7 On a Shoestring is having a $50 gift card giveaway to StyleTryst.com in honor of the transformation away from being a personal blog! I've never been into accessories, but if I ever win this giveaway, I bet I'd have a really fun time browsing through StyleTryst and deciding what to buy. Ends on 23 May 2011.

Sustainable Personal Finance is sponsoring a $20 paypal giveaway on Momsplan, and only one lucky reader will win it. Straight and direct cash giveaways are my favourite, so I had this giveaway already bookmarked long beforehand. I really hope I'd win, so as to buy a domain for Womobomo! Ends on 24 May 2011.

An Uncommon Thread is having a Fair Indigo Men's Pima Cotton Dress Shirt Giveaway for a lucky reader! Consider this an early father's day gift. There are three steps to enter, and only very little entries, which increased the chances of winning, so I went for it. Blue, is my father's favourite colour. Ends on 24 May 2011.

It has been a great pleasure for them, as a World’s Leading Global Online B2B Trade Marketplace since 1996. ECPlaza has improved a lot throughout the years, and part of this success is by listening to all concerns and advices of ECPlaza's valuable members. ECPlaza shows the utmost gratitude in serving each and every member and will continue to improve with better, and updated services.

I had a great time!

As a buyer, I was interested in the pictures of so many products on ECPlaza, so I decided to search around for awhile. It's really amazing, and I get both very detailed search results and specifics of the products. My mother recently expressed interest in a Nespresso Coffee Machine that was so expensive we couldn't afford it, so I decided to try the keyword "Nespresso" on ECPlaza's search engine. I wasn;t disappointed, although the specific brand that I wanted wasn't listed (even if it was I couldn't afford it anyway), I had two alternatives available! The first was from China, and I saw a fantastic photo of a "Espresso and cappuccino coffee machine" with a list of product features. Then I searched a little more and I found a "Pasco Automatic Coffee Machine" from a Singapore company.

The best of the best about ECPlaza is the clear descriptions available for products, plus such clear photos of the products, which was what attracted me to linger on the website for a little more. I had a great time browsing ECPlaza, and I really hope you would too!

Follow ECPlaza's twitter and facebook to get the latest updates!

15 May Giveaways Roundup

Been really busy on my own portfolio, ever since I won a theme made by ThemeFuse.. I could choose any theme from their gallery and I chose Webstudio Standard. I am still customizing it though, and I am already 40 per cent done with my portfolio. I intend to create more photo manipulations and sketches in time to come! When it is 100 per cent completed, I'll mention it again on Womobomo so that you can go visit. And here are the giveaways that I have recently joined~ Enjoy.

Ever gotten or bought something from an amazing hand cut paper artist? Here is your chance to win some of the works of Jessica Alpern! Olive Bites is giving away Summer Skin hand cut paint chips to a lucky winner. It was really easy to enter this giveaway, I just had to give your contact information as an entry. Ends on 15 May 2011.

The Design Work is giving away 5 brushes pack to two winners from Vectorpack.net, which provides high quality stocks and and design elements! I love these kind of giveaways, plus it has really little comments so there is a BIG chance of winning(Hehe!). All I had to do, was to just comment with the brush packs that I wanted to win. Ends on 16 May 2011.

I have never ever touched, let alone see a hand stitched bracelet, but to my surprise, I saw one in a giveaway by Picky Chicky. Picky Chicky is holding a giveaway for readers to win a Pink Leaf Cuff Bracelet that was made in a craft fair. All I had to do, was to just comment on the post, so easy! Plus, there were little entries to this giveaway so it means there's a big chance I could win! Ends on 16 May 2011.

Punchtab is giving away an iPad 2 plus a $25 gift certificate to winners..... in the U.K. What a blow~ But nevermind, I still joined this giveaway because they stated that there'd be another prize for international users, that is if you win. The entries are easy to enter, you don't have to do anything extra other than promote this contest through social media. Ends on 17 May 2011.

An Uncommon Thread is giving away $150 Gift Certificate to indigenousdesigns.com. When I first came across this giveaway, I bookmarked it on my bookmarks bar in Chrome. That was how it important it was to me, want to know why? It's because I had my eyes on the Urban Fingerless Gloves for a very long time. The only bad thing is that I have to check back to the facebook page to see if I win on that day. Plus, I can't seem to see their FB page at the moment, I'm still trying to understand why and resolve this issue. Ends on 17 May 2011.

Oh my god, just look at the cuteness of this! Creative Tail is giving away a pendant of your choice to the winner. Be sure to state which pendant though, and I chose number 2! I joined this giveaway because the pendants looked cute, honestly. I've skipped many giveaways like... handmade necklaces etc., but I'll not miss this one, you should check it out. Ends on 17 May 2011.

I was to reluctant to enter the the accessorize bracelet giveaway by Delicate Youth at first, because of the number of comments/entries that this giveaway had received. Honestly, the chances of winning this giveaway is so very minimal, but good photographs attract participants, that's why I'm entering. Perhaps you could be the lucky one. Ends on 31 May 2011.

Earning with iPanel online

I'm having my exams in 2 weeks, and I was getting bored with revision, so I decided to write a post on my wonderful experience with iPanel online. I share good stuffs :3 So, what is iPanel online? They are an online market research team, founded in 2004 in Shanghai, China. If you would take the time to google "iPanel", you can see that they have already expanded to many countries, including Singapore. Check that you are living in those countries, because they each have specific websites for survey taking. Yes, you get paid to do surveys from iPanel.

I'm not very sure about the different survey methods, I think I've read somewhere that they do mobile surveys as well, but I personally have only done iPanel's surveys online. I'm from Singapore, so the panel I signed up for is iPanel Sg. So everything that I have to say in this post, is based on iPanel Singapore interface. I have received many survey invites since the day I joined, on average around 1 per week. Sometimes survey invites are not sent to your email (I have no idea why, could be a technical error). but I find surveys that I qualify on the website itself - "My homepage".

Here is a screen shot for the latest survey that was available :

Look to the right of the screenshot. Do you see "Rewards"? Basically, 600 points = 5 SGD. However, as the prize money increases, the amount of points you need to exchange for it decreases. So, 10200 points gets you 100 SGD. Interestingly, a 10,000 SGD prize is offered as well, and the exchange point is 1000200 points. The cash is paid via paypal only. There are many other prizes to exchange for as well, that are not in cash, some examples are HDV-D9 camera, Nintendo DSL, iPod Nano and so on. Once again, I reemphasize that these prizes are what is available on iPanel Singapore, you might find very different prizes available for other iPanel countries. If you are a member of iPanel of another country, please feel free to comment on this post with your evaluations.

Your points for each survey varies, and they depend on the length of the survey you have taken. I am extremely satisfied, that points from surveys are immediately credited without delay to account. I cannot have a proper screenshot to show, because apparently they don't keep a long history of records for their members to view, but here's what I have for you:

If you complete the survey, you get all the points you deserve. If you do not meet the condition, you still get some points. If the number of people taking the survey reached the survey criteria, then you get some points as well, and you're brought to a page informing you that "you were too late", for your "participation".

One obvious question you would ask is, why are members not given equal chances to take part in the survey? As in, if there was member A and member B, why would member A get the survey invitation in time to complete it and get the points, while member B gets the "sorry, too late" notification when he/she wanted to do the survey? The answer is already given in the first part of my post. You can never guarantee that there are absolutely, 100 per cent no technical errors in survey systems. Member A could have gotten the survey invitation earlier than member B had. Or perhaps, member A met the survey requirements a little bit closer as compared to member B.

I sometimes feel that iPanel works like this:

  • When the survey is ready, the link is then available on each member's homepage.
  • Members that are more suitable for this survey, are invited by email.
  • Members who are not that suitable for this survey, can check the homepage and still see the survey "enter" link.
  • Thus, checking back on the iPanel's website frequently is important so as not to miss out any opportunities available.
  • However, this is just what I feel, it might be 99 per cent not true, I don't know.

On iPanel Singapore's homepage, there is another link called "Interactive survey". It is a place where members can create their own surveys for free. Some generous members would give a few points for their interactive survey. Here is a screenshot of it:

I had fun doing all those interactive surveys because all of them added up to around 100 points, and they are all short, sweet and simple. Honestly, each interactive survey takes less than a minute.

The survey topics you would see could be about anything, I don't have a superb memory so I can't really remember every survey that I did, but some frequent ones are about mobile phones, company products, advertisements, and health. There is also one additional way to earn points. Which is, to recommend your friends to take join iPanel as well. Always remember to login to your own country's iPanel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can only recommend friends that are from the same country as you, because the referral link won't work otherwise.

According to the latest news from iPanel Singapore, there is a referral contest going on, and from 1 May 2011 to 21 May 2011, for each successful referral you bring to iPanel, you get 200 points, and that is equivalent to 2 SGD in paypal cash. It is a really great deal, because normally, you only get 20 bonus points for each successful referral.

If you have read till here so far, let me recommend you to Singapore iPanel online and grab your 20 EXTRA points just for joining. Do not hesitate. If you have any questions regarding what I said (I'm human and I make mistakes too), comment on this post or contact me by using the contact form. Questions regarding iPanel itself should be sent via their customer service email.

I wasn't paid to spend an hour typing out these whole chunk of my own opinion, so this is seriously my own honest review. For updates on Womobomo, subscribe through Google Friends Connect on the sidebar to the right, or follow me on Twitter, or subscribe through newsletter, or simply subscribe to the posts.

9 May Giveaways Roundup

There is a fact I have been wanting to highlight ever since I started posting theses giveaways roundup. All these giveaways, do not necessarily have the criteria of "more points to enter the giveaway by blogging about it". I only post giveaways that I entered, so you can say it's a way to keep track of the many giveaways that I come across. I post giveaways that are suitable for myself, so the chances of seeing a "T-shirt" prize are much, much higher than seeing "Diapers". Enjoy.

Urban Fringe is giving away a pillow of the Winner's Choice! There are plenty of pillows for you to choose from and you can see them here. Just leave a comment and tell them what you love supersized. You can see my own comment there. I don't know when this ends.

 blog_button_150.jpg

Wild and Precious is having an Opposite Day $20 Gift Certificate giveaway. If you visit the Opposite Day Etsy shop, you can see many beautiful handmade craft items that I usually want to win, but am not the winner. Anyway, this ends on 9 May 2011.

menopausalnewmom

Menopausal New Mom is giving away white pearls after a review on it. The pictures were enough to catch my attention and join this giveaway. Take note that previous winners of this blog cannot take part in this giveaway again. Ends on 11 May 2011.

the rikrak studio

Rikrak studio is giving away a personalized plate and bowl set by CHILDish. The font colour on the site made it so difficult to read that I just skipped whatever was said about this giveaway and scrolled down to enter the giveaway. Ends on 13 May 2011.

Amethyst Daydreams is having their 500 followers giveaway with many signed prizes to be won. I have no idea why but seeing so many prizes made me feel real good, like.. an urge to enter this giveaway. Such generosity! Anyway, I wanted to use the badge on their site but it was broken so I screenshot the banner to be placed here. This ends on 13 May 2011.

The image says it all. Just head over to Specky Boy and tell them why you would like to win that book: jQuery 1.4 Animation Techniques: Beginner’s Guide by Dan Wellman. I've had to refresh their giveaway page a few times to see it, and I blame it on my internet, if this happens to you as well, just keep refreshing. Ends on 15 May 2011.

6 May Giveaways Roundup

Here are some random giveaways that I was interested in joining, and joined for today. There are many giveaways happening on the internet right now, and it is impossible for me to know which blog has them, which ones are worldwide, which one are cash, which ones are beauty products, ... I don't know. What I do know is that, I only list giveaways that are worldwide (few of them are in Singapore which I would tell you beforehand). I will explain more in the "about" page that I'm still writing on. Do not click on the images, they bring you no where, click on the links in the description after them to be brought directly to the page of the giveaway. Enjoy.

Miso Glamorous is giving away $50 cash in Paypal for one winner! Pretty straight forward and simple instructions for such an awesome prize. Ends on 10 May 2011.

Uniquely Moi Books is holding a giveaway for The Diva Doctrine. A very simple and original giveaway, read the review and you'll see the form at the very end. Ends on 9 May 2011.

Things That I Like is holding a bracelet giveaway from her Etsy Shop! Here is what she says: "For every 50 people that enter this giveaway, I will add another bracelet into the pot." Nothing can beat this, you enter giveaways, you follow, tell people to enter giveaways, and you get more chance to win. This giveaway ends on 1 June 2011, leaving plenty of time for another bracelet to be won.

Sarah Hassan's blog is having her 1st anniversary blog giveaway to thank her awesome followers, and Sigma Brush review giveaway as a fan of Sigma and for being their affiliate! The first one ends on 12 June 2011, and the second ends on 10 June 2011.

Simply Stacie is giving away $850 worth of items for her "I Love My Mommy" giveaway blog hop. She is one of the websites that I specially bookmarked to post about on Womobomo. Why? Because she was considerate enough to think of giveaways for international visitors as well as U.S. visitors of course. Look at the amount of GFC followers she has! I love the $75 Amazon.com Gift Card giveaway. I hope I win, you too of course. Ends on 10 May 2011.

Life With Stevens is giving away $25 Paypal cash to one lucky reader! It's pretty weird that the reason for this giveaway was help her get back on groove (Heh!) But anyway, what a lovely prize. Ends on 6 May 2011.

3 May Giveaways Roundup

Here are all the giveaways I have entered today :D It's nearly a mix of everything, so just go through each of them and see if you are interested in any at all. They are not in any order of ranking.

Very awesome people have come together and gathered giveaways for the Spring Blog Carnival! It is exactly like the Easter Bunny Blog Hop held in April, where I had so much fun blog hopping for my change to get a free book from Book Depository. There are so many book giveaways in this carnival, you might need an hour or two to complete all of them. Remember to check 1) If it is international or restricted, and 2) If you have met the criteria eg. Followed whoever on Google Friend Connect and 3)The deadline. Good Luck.

Innspired Mag is giving away three 1 month full subscriptions to PixMac premium service, worth $597. This is a superb giveaway if you are an illustrator or designer! Ends on 7 May 2011.

Did I say that I have no use for cosmetic products? Well, my friends around me totally loves them. I am assuming you would too, so Candy Coated Tips is having their 1 year Anniversary international giveaway for... nail stuffs or something. I don't know, I've only ever polish my nails once in my entire life, when I was going for a graduation party. I'm entering this giveaway to givemy friends the gifts if I ever win. Giveaway Ends on 19 May 2011.

Another giveaway that caught my eyes was the Myan Art Studios & Sixth and Main Giveaway held at A Little Etsy Love. Honestly, go through the giveaway and you would see that the photographies are so awesome! And you get to win any 2 8x8’s or 8x10’s found on either of the two etsy sites of the owner. I had such a great time browsing both of her Etsy Shops, it was like a great art gallery show or something. The giveaway is open worldwide, and I hope I win :D! Deadline is today.

Here is a little extra for fellow Singaporean citizens~ My Green Space Issue 9 Contest contains an awesome Eco Gourmet Cafe – Set Lunch Voucher contest where you simply have to answer two questions by email to be eligible. Don't forget to check out the other two contests as well :) Deadline is 15 May 2011.
